Vacancy
Job Description
1. Appointed by the President and approved by the Board.
2. Provides the Publications Committee Chairperson, Business
Manager, and Vice-President with current Internet account
information, including billing information and password(s).
3. Shall work with the Publications Committee to maintain
website based on Board directives, including obtaining
approval for all new information including links and banner
advertisements. Excluded from this requirement are updates
to existing material (name changes, addresses, etc.)
4. Website updates will be done a minimum of once a month.
5. Adds new web pages based on Board directives.
6. Recommends additions or changes based on new technology,
user input, etc.
7. Provides a written report to the Vice-President one month
prior to any regular Board meeting, listing the activities,
accomplishments, goals and budget updates of the position.
8. Shall review the minutes following each Board meeting and
comply with all actions affecting him/her.
9. The January report to the Board will include a financial
statement for the previous year and a forecast for the
upcoming year.
10. Maintains listing with current main Internet search
browsers.
11. Forwards all email not directly related to website
maintenance to the Vice-President for distribution.
12. Agrees that all NPGA Website work and content is the
property of NPGA.
13. Will sign a statement at the bottom of this job
description that the job description has been read,
understood, and that it will be complied with. This
statement will constitute an agreement as referenced in
paragraph 8.L.4.b of the Rules and Regulations.
Bid Specifications
Please provide the following information in your bid:
• Experience designing and maintaining websites. Include
links to at least one example of a website you designed and
currently maintain.
o Web page layout and design
o HTM / ASP
o Microsoft FrontPage
o Graphics design (minor requirement, mainly cropping and
resizing pictures submitted by members in its current
format)
• General changes and/or additions you would make to NPGA’s
current website for cosmetic or ease-of-use purposes.
• Frequency that you would be able to update website
information.
• Software:
o Programs you currently own that you could use for NPGA
website.
o Programs (if any) you would want NPGA to provide for your
use for NPGA website.
o Programs for which you have taken training classes or in
which you are certified.
• Compensation you would want for your skills and time to
design and maintain NPGA website.
• Types of expenses and estimated amounts that you would
want NPGA to reimburse.
o Hosting fees if you plan to change web hosts (requires
Windows hosting with FrontPage, Active Server Pages, and MS
SQL Server in its current format).
Additional Information
The bidder would be well served to become familiar with
the entire contents of our existing website at
www.npga-pygmy.com. Additionally, the bidder should be aware
of the pertinent provisions of paragraph 8.L of the Rules
and Regulations as they pertain to the Webmaster. A general
working knowledge of all of NPGA’s directives is highly
recommended.
